We have received several messages from the Winter/Spring 2017 OCS graduates, with updates to share for you all.
Get Your Z’s
You have to be in your rack at 2200, apparently, only with exceptions for head calls. This means you need to be extremely smart in managing your time to complete all the required tasks each night. Firewatch is supposedly giving out chits and the Sergeant Instructors will give you trouble if you’re trying to catch up on work past 2200.
In 2017 OCS PT is Joining the 21st Century
Run days are now only about 3/week, stretch PT about 1-2/week, and muscle endurance workouts every other day or so from what we’re hearing. There’s a higher emphasis on muscular endurance. Bear crawls, box jumps, kettlebell and squat movements are being added to the traditional pushups and pullups.
